Sandhill Cranes in Wisconsin

Last week I made my annual fall trip to WI for some trout fishing, cheese curd and apples. Now I will also add - CRANES!

I spotted several families throughout the valleys - this family really was fun to watch. Mom and Dad seem to be teaching Junior some things.

I just love these guys - and when I see them, I have to stop and photograph them. Even when it was cutting into my trout fishing.

Last year I posted a pic of a brown trout I caught in Bishop Branch - I was so looking forward to fishing that stretch again - and when I hiked into that little spot the river had completely changed course. A flood had knocked down all kinds of trees and the hole was gone. Needless to say I was bummed. That is how it goes sometimes.
