I finally got a chance to head to Squaw Creek NWR just outside of Mound City, MO. This is a gathering place for hundreds of thousands of snow geese and other birds. Eagles follow the migration of the geese.
I had never had a chance to see eagles fighting in mid air until now. I was a long way off (that is why I need a 600 f4)but I snapped some shots anyway.
We had a really cold spell the last week and a half so many of birds had headed out - but still saw some cool stuff.
