"Who" Would Have Thought

Recently had the chance to go to Kearney, Ne to view the Sandhill Crane migration. The cranes are already in NE. In fact there have been cranes in NE all winter.

Some people think that their presence here is a result of the drought conditions in TX. No one really knows.

Spotted this bad boy on a dirt road as I was looking for cranes. I turned by car around. Hit the hammer for a few burst and he flew off. Lesson - have your camera in your lap. Second lesson - grab the shot when you can. There is no guarantee that the critter or bird will stick around for you.

If you are looking for a great wildlife experience - come to NE. 500,000 cranes can't be wrong.
