The first day my good friend Roger and I headed south to Seward, AK where we took a boat tour of the Kenai Fjords. I had done this tour 6 years ago and really enjoyed it.

This year - not so much.

High seas plus rain the whole time really made for a miserable experience. So miserable that I threw up. I am a flat lander so this was total yuk for me and most of the folks on the boat.

Roger somehow did not throw up...he has great willpower. I think this was the only pic from the entire trip that I could post. Not a great shot - but a surprising one. I guess these humpbacks rarely perform this kind of behavior in AK. So that was cool. But nothing else about it was enjoyable.

The rain at this moment is just killing us. We did see several humpbacks and a few puffins. It did not start off so great - but it got better real fast. More to come.
