Alaska Back Country Week 2

We went to the Matanuska Glacier for a little ice climbing. "The Mat" is 25 miles long and one of the fairly accessible glaciers in AK. You just have to pay $20.00 and they let you walk out there. Of course you have to sign something promising not to sue them if you hurt yourself. But it is worth it.

We were able to persuade Colby into being our model for the day. He was a good sport.

The weather right now is not cooperating - it is raining pretty hard. Not fun. But what are you going to do?

You need to get your camera gear protected - that is for sure. Water and electronics are not friends. So make sure you cover your gear.

I really like this shot - the yellow of the helmet and jacket really work with the blue of the glacier. The lines leading up the frame. The ice climbing tools swinging. It all works for me.
