Hundreds of thousands of Geese make their way through NE every year. Their migration starts a little earlier than the Sandhill Crane migration. There is a little overlap between the two.
A few weeks ago I headed out to catch the end of the snow geese stop in the rainwater basin. It took me almost all day to find them. The weather was cold and nasty out. I had never seen them on this pond before.
So I got out of car and stood at the fence line and waited. I knew from past experience that it was a matter of time before these geese would get restless. So I focused on the front group and just as the back group began their lift off I hit the hammer. Fun stuff.
