The Tree

I took Linda out to the see the Sandhill Crane migration yesterday. We did not get up early for sunrise but we did stay for sunset. When shooting the cranes it is sit around and wait and then shoot like crazy. The sunset does not last forever. So I had scouted out where I thought would be a great spot only for it to be blah.

So we drove like crazy to the next spot - nothing. Light was fading and I was getting desperate. All of a sudden I spotted this tree and thought it might be at least something. So parked the car in a pull off - one of the only safe places on this stretch of the road. Set up the tripod and hoped birds would fly over the top of it.

I was pleased.
